Physicians Assistants

Physician Assistants:

A fast-growing profession in Oklahoma

Forbes named Physician Assistant the #1 most promising job for millennials in 2017. In that same year, it was the #5 fastest growing profession in America according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Oklahoma is no different. Each year the interest in the profession grows, and we now have 3 accredited PA Programs with 2 more in process. With approximately 1600 PAs in the state, we are proud to be part of the solution to the physician shortage crisis. PAs in Oklahoma serve in a diverse range of communities and specialties and are highly engaged in continuing education and advocacy opportunities.

Legislative

Legislative Center

The OAPA has a strong legislative team that works closely with legislators and stakeholders to work towards our mission and face the various challenges that arise throughout the year.  It is crucial that PAs make their voices heard and together we can achieve the profession’s legislative priorities.  We value your input and need to hear what challenges you are facing in your practice.  Your positive feedback is also important.  Let us know how legislative changes have positively impacted you.

Lastly, we cannot make change without your donations.  Please consider a donation to PAPAC now.
