Now, more than ever, PAs need to learn that what happens during the legislative session at the State Capitol impacts and defines the scope of their practice every day.  Many PAs are unfamiliar with the legislative process and are intimidated by the possibility of talking to lawmakers.  Once you have the tools, it’s easier than you think to visit with legislators, tell them about an issue and ask them to support the legislative efforts of OAPA.  In this workshop, attendees will learn: What is advocacy and why it is important; How does a bill become law; and Tips for talking to legislators: What to say and what NOT to say. Jan Loftis, OAPA Lobbyist will conduct this workshop.
