Noor Jihan Abdul-Haqq, MD

Dr. Noor Jihan Abdul-Haqq is a board-certified pediatrician in Oklahoma City and owner of Peace of Mind Pediatrics and Dr. Jihan LLC. As a faculty trainer for the REACH Institute, she equips primary care clinicians to treat mental health disorders. She recently completed a Pediatric Integrative Mini-Fellowship and mentors pre-med and medical students.  

In 2019 she helped establish Clara Community Health Center, serving uninsured patients as Board Chair and physician. Most recently she was appointed to the Oklahoma City-County Health Department board. 

Her medical work spans Barbados, the Dominican Republic, and Mexico. Recognitions include the Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award, Journal Record’s Achievers Under 40, and Healthcare Hero. Morehouse School of Medicine named her an Outstanding Alumni.  

Dr. Abdul-Haqq holds a Biochemistry degree from Spelman College (graduating with honors) and attended the Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics. She earned her medical degree and completed residency at Morehouse School of Medicine.  

She and her husband, Masood, have three children. In her free time, she enjoys travel, cooking, and family time.  

Prescribe with Purpose: Tackling Otitis Media Responsibly  

Objectives:

  • Describe the clinical criteria for diagnosing acute otitis media and differentiate it from otitis media with effusion.
  • Examine evidence-based guidelines for antibiotic prescribing in otitis media, including indications for immediate treatment vs. watchful waiting.
  • Describe principles of antibiotic stewardship to reduce inappropriate prescribing and minimize antibiotic resistance in the treatment of otitis media.
