Courtney Abernathy, MMSc, PA-C

Courtney earned her Bachelor of Science degree in 2007 from Southwester Oklahoma State University where she studied Health Sciences. She graduated from Lincoln Memorial University-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine with a Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies in 2011. She has a earned a Certificate of Advanced Education in Obesity Medicine. Prior to joining the OSU PA program faculty, she worked clinically in Family Medicine and Urgent Care in the Tulsa area and more recently has experience as a Women’s Health and Obesity Medicine PA. Courtney is a member of the Oklahoma Association of Physician Assistants, the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the Obesity Medicine Association, and the Physician Assistant Education Association. She is certified through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. 

She was born and raised in rural, southwest Oklahoma and is passionate about advancing the Physician Assistant profession and educating the next generation of Physician Assistants to practice in rural Oklahoma.
