Dr. Alessandra Landmann is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatric Surgery. She graduated with her medical degree from the University of Oklahoma and where she also completed her general surgery and pediatric surgery training. She completed a pediatric surgical critical care fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin. She is currently board-certified in general surgery, pediatric surgery and surgical critical care.
Dr. Landmann currently serves as the pediatric burn director and associate pediatric trauma medical director. She has a passion for caring for injured and sick children and infants. She developed a pediatric track surgical critical care fellowship to teach these skills to the surgeons-in-training, where she serves as the program director for the critical care fellowship and assistant program director for the pediatric surgery fellowship.
When not working, Dr. Landmann enjoys spending time with her family and hiking the national parks!
Pediatric Surgical Emergencies
Objectives:
- Acquire a foundational knowledge of pediatric emergencies, including an understanding of how to appropriately triage patients.
- Differentiate common causes of abdominal pain and their workup.
- Identify foreign bodies on plain film imaging and their significance.
