
Dan T. D. Nguyen, MD, is a board‑certified neuroradiologist and interventional spine specialist with over 25 years of academic and clinical leadership. He earned a B.A. in Physiology from the University of California, Berkeley (1989) and his MD from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine (1994). Following a general surgery internship at UPMC Mercy, he completed diagnostic radiology residency at the University of Illinois, Chicago, and dual neuroradiology fellowships at Georgetown University Medical Center and the National Institutes of Health .
Dr. Nguyen served as Chief of Neuroradiology and Fellowship Program Director at Georgetown University (2001–2005), then joined Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, rising to Associate Professor, Chief of Interventional Neuroradiology, and Interim Vice‑Chair of Clinical Research (2005–2023). In 2018 he transitioned to Oklahoma, leading spine imaging and interventions at Oklahoma Spine Hospital, and in 2023 founded Neuroradiology & Pain Solutions of Oklahoma in Edmond.
A prolific investigator, Dr. Nguyen has led and co‑authored numerous multicenter clinical trials—most recently the HYDRAFIL‑D pivotal study and the STACI SI‑joint fusion trial—and published extensively in peer‑reviewed journals. He has held leadership roles in the American Society of Spine Radiology (President, 2020), the American Society of Neuroradiology, and the American College of Radiology, contributing to national practice guidelines. Recognized for excellence in teaching and patient care, he continues to mentor trainees, consult for medical device innovators, and present internationally on advanced spine imaging and minimally invasive interventions.
