The PA bill, House Bill 2584, was vetoed by the Governor last night.

It’s time to Override the Veto of HB 2584 authored by Speaker Kyle Hilbert and Senate Pro Tem Lonnie Paxton.

In 2019, President Trump issued Executive Order 13890 calling on federal agencies to eliminate unnecessary supervision requirements for PAs, empowering them to serve patients more freely and efficiently. This is the standard for our nation’s veterans since the VA granted full practice authority to PAs. If it’s good enough for our military and our veterans, it’s good enough for Oklahomans.

HB 2584 would remove outdated regulatory barriers that limit patient access and drive up healthcare costs.

Though the governor chose to veto this bill, the House and Senate now have the opportunity to finish the job. We are 49th in healthcare outcomes because we continue to deliver healthcare in the outdated, archaic ways in Oklahoma.

We have until the end of the day today to get the legislature to override the veto. Call your legislator in the House and Senate NOW and ask them to override the veto of House Bill 2584. Get your family, friends and colleagues to do it, too!

Nurse practitioners also had their bill vetoed last night, so they are calling legislators.

If legislators are hearing from nurse practitioners and their bill is overridden and not the PA bill, it would make nurse practitioners a better hire.
