Substance Abuse Lecture

The Oklahoma Academy of Physician Assistants will provide its members with an opportunity to obtain 1 hour of Category I CME credit on the topic of substance abuse. This CME will satisfy the substance abuse CME requirement for Oklahoma PA licensure renewal.

The recorded lecture, “The Endocannabinoid System and the Potential Uses of Cannabidiol” will be available for purchase starting October 22, 2018, on the OAPA website www.okpa.org.  There will be a quiz on-line that will need to be completed and passed before credit is awarded.

The speaker is Aaron Heilaman, PharmD. At the conclusion of the presentation, the participant should be able to:

1. Discuss the basic elements to and function of the Endocannabinoid System.

2. Describe the current known mechanisms by which phytocannabinoids, especially CBD, have their effects on the body through modulation of The Endocannabinoid System.

3. Explain the medical evidence supporting CBD’s potential role in the management of a variety of medical conditions including pain, anxiety, sleep, and substance abuse.

Conference organizers plan to request 1 hour of Category I CME.
