 43rd Annual CME Conference

Embassy Suites Norman Hotel & Conference Center

September 21 - 23, 2016

The Oklahoma Academy of Physician Assistants 43rd Annual Fall CME Conference is designed to provide educational activities that will assist PAs in their ongoing efforts to remain current with medical knowledge, clinical skills, and health care issues.  The topics of this program were selected by monitoring trends in current therapies and medical advances as well as past program evaluations.

This year the concurrent sessions will offer 8 hours of Self-Assessment (SA) Credit that will cover Pearls in Cardiology, Neurology, Musculoskeletal, Gastroenterology, Pulmonology, ENT, ER and Pharmacology.

Accommodations

The conference will be back at the beautiful spacious Embassy Suites Norman Hotel & Conference Center.  This hotel features 283 spacious two-room suites with separate living rooms and bedrooms.  Each room includes great amenities like refrigerators, microwaves, and high-speed internet access.  The hotel also offers an amazing complimentary cooked-to-order breakfast each morning as well as a Manager's Reception each evening featuring your favorite cocktails, non-alcoholic beverages, and appetizers.

The special negotiated room rate of $132.00 has remained the same as last year.  Hotel reservations can be made by calling the hotel at 1-866-577-1273 and refer to group code "OAP". Reservations can also be made on-line at Embassy Suites Norman using the same group code "OAP".

The special room rate is available until September 5, 2016 or until the group block is sold-out, whichever comes first.  Please make your reservations NOW to avoid unavailability or a rate change!

CME Credit

This program is not yet approved for CME credit.  Conference organizers plan to request 25 hours of AAPA Category I CME credit and 8 hours of Self-Assessment (SA) CME Credit from the Physician Assistant Review Panel. Please note that SA CME will run concurrently with the general session so a maximum of 25 hours can be earned.

The program will also provide up to 12 hours of concurrent optional workshops to include a workshop that will offer up to 20 hours of PI CME by completing the take-home portion. The program will include the required Oklahoma State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision one-hour Category I CME on the topic of substance abuse.

CME Logging

OAPA members registered for all three days of conference will have their CME hours logged automatically with the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure.  Attendees who don’t attend all sessions and/or three days will need to log CME hours attended on the OAPA website.

The OAPA will once again participate in the NCCPA CME Conference Logging System.  This is an added benefit to significantly simplify the logging process with NCCPA.  Participants will receive a unique link to a list of conference activities in your personal certification page.  This will be a point-and-click approach and credits logged this way aren’t subject to the NCCPA AUDIT because they are already confirmed by the OAPA.

Become an Artist at the OAPA Reception!

This year Wine and Palette will be on hand to assist you in creating your own unique piece of art. The cost to participate in the class is $25.00. You will need to register by September 12th.
