Annual OAPA Fall CME Conference
The Oklahoma Academy of Physician Assistants 44th Annual Fall CME Conference is designed to provide you with the most valuable educational program with dynamic speakers who will assist PAs in their ongoing efforts to remain current with medical knowledge, clinical skills, and health care issues. More than that, the OAPA Conference provides you the opportunity to catch-up or meet new colleagues.
The conference will offer two concurrent tracks on Wednesday and Thursday mornings. Wednesday morning’s track will cover weight management topics that will be presented by Dr. Melinda Cail and Dr. Gregory Walton. A radiology track is scheduled for Thursday morning and presented by Dr. Jake Block from Vanderbilt University. If you have not heard him speak in the past you will want to make a point to attend this year. Also, back by popular demand will be several Pearl Lectures during the General Session.
This year we have booked an exciting new venue at the beautiful, newly remodeled River Spirit Resort Casino. This venue features a luxurious smoke-free 483-room hotel rising 27 stories into the sky, a 30,000-square foot smoke-free convention center that is attached to the hotel, a 2,500 seat Paradise Cove Theater for live entertainment and sporting events, a tropical-themed resort pool and bar area, a variety of bars and restaurants plus a 50,000-square foot Margaretville Casino and Restaurant.
The special negotiated room rate is $119.00 for single or double and $219.00 for a limited number of signature suites. This program has been reviewed and is approved for a maximum of 38.00 AAPA Category 1 CME credits by the AAPA Review Panel. PAs should claim only those credits actually spent participating in the CME activity.

OAPA members registered for all three days of the conference will have their CME hours logged automatically with the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure. Attendees who don’t attend all sessions and/or three days will need to log CME hours attended on the OAPA website.
The OAPA will once again participate in the NCCPA CME Conference Logging System. This is an added benefit to significantly simplify the logging process with NCCPA. Participants will receive a unique link to a list of conference activities in your personal certification page. This will be a point-and-click approach and credits logged this way aren’t subject to the NCCPA AUDIT because they are already confirmed by the OAPA.
Celebrate 50 years of the PA Profession at the OAPA Reception and Poker Tournament!
Make plans to celebrate 50 years of the PA Profession with your colleagues during the OAPA reception and poker tournament. YOU DO NOT NEED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE POKER TOURNAMENT TO ATTEND. The poker tournament is an added event for those interested to try their hand at poker and have some fun. Whether you are a seasoned pro or you have never played poker, this event is for you. The OAPA reception will be going on at the same time with cocktails and dessert. This will give you the opportunity to cheer for your colleague or cheer for those “special” board members who may have a bounty on their head! Buy-ins will be available for an additional fee and prizes given to winners! Registration for the Poker Tournament is separate from conference registration and is a donation to PAPAC.
Exhibitors will be present displaying products and services of interest. Exhibits will open at 9:00 am on Wednesday, September 20 and close at 5:00 pm. They will reopen at 8:00 am Thursday morning and will close and dismantle after the last break. Be sure and pick up your exhibitor signature cards at the registration desk so that you can get them signed and entered into a drawing for exciting gifts! Name badges must be worn in the convention center.
