General Information

The Oklahoma Academy of Physician Assistants 45th Annual Fall CME Conference is designed to provide you with the most valuable educational program with dynamic speakers who will assist PAs in their ongoing efforts to remain current with medical knowledge, clinical skills, and health care issues. More than that, the OAPA Conference provides you with the opportunity to catch up or meet new colleagues.

The conference will offer two concurrent tracks on Wednesday and Thursday mornings. Wednesday morning’s track will cover pulmonary topics. Scheduled for Thursday morning is a pediatric track. The conference will also offer a BLS provider course as well as refresher classes for PALS and ACLS.

The conference will be back at the beautiful spacious Embassy Suites Norman Hotel & Conference Center.  This hotel features 283 spacious two-room suites with separate living rooms and bedrooms. Each room includes great amenities like refrigerators, microwaves, and high-speed internet access.  The hotel also offers an amazing complimentary cooked-to-order breakfast each morning as well as a Manager's Reception each evening featuring your favorite cocktails, non-alcoholic beverages, and appetizers.

The special negotiated room rate of $135.00 has remained the same as last year. Hotel reservations can be made by calling the hotel at 1-866-577-1273 and refer to group code "APA”. Reservations can also be made online at Embassy Suites Norman using the same group code "APA".

The special room rate is available until September 3, 2018, or until the group block is sold-out, whichever comes first.  Please make your reservations NOW to avoid unavailability or a rate change!

CME Credit

The conference has been reviewed and is approved for a maximum of 33.00 AAPA Category 1 CME credits by the AAPA Review Panel. PAs should claim only those credits actually spent participating in the CME activity. This activity was planned in accordance with AAPA CME Standards for Live Programs and for Commerical Support of Live Programs.

An additional 16 hours of Category I CME will be available through the BLS/PALS/ACLS workshops. Please note that the pulmonary and pediatric tracks and workshops run concurrently with the general session to a maximum of 25 hours that can be earned.

The program will include the required Oklahoma State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision one-hour Category I CME on the topic of substance abuse scheduled for Thursday, September 20th, 5:30 – 6:30 pm.

CME Logging

Conference attendees will have their CME hours logged automatically with the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure. Attendees who DO NOT attend all sessions will need to contact the OAPA to adjust your CME hours.

The OAPA will once again participate in the NCCPA CME Conference Logging System. This is an added benefit to significantly simplify the logging process with NCCPA. Participants will receive a unique link to the list of conference activities in your personal certification page. This will be a point-and-click approach and credits logged this way aren’t subject to the NCCPA AUDIT because they are already confirmed by the OAPA.

OAPA Reception

Make plans to attend the OAPA reception and enjoy drink and food with your colleagues. This is the perfect opportunity to catch up with your classmates and mingle with your colleagues! The reception is scheduled after the required substance abuse lecture at 6:30 pm on Thursday, September 20, 2018.

Exhibit Hall

Exhibitors will be present displaying products and services of interest. Exhibits will open at 9:00 am on Wednesday, September 19 and close at 5:00 pm.  The hall will reopen at 8:00 am Thursday morning and will close and dismantle after the last break. Be sure and pick up your exhibitor signature cards at the registration desk so that you can get them signed and entered into a drawing for great prizes! Name badges must be worn in the exhibit hall.
