General Information

The Oklahoma Academy of Physician Assistants 46th Annual Fall CME Conference is designed to provide you with the most valuable educational program with dynamic speakers who will assist PAs in their ongoing efforts to remain current with medical knowledge, clinical skills, and health care issues. More than that, the OAPA Conference provides you with the opportunity to network with your colleagues.

The conference will offer two concurrent tracks on Wednesday and Thursday mornings. Wednesday morning’s track will cover non-diabetic endocrine topics. The Thursday morning track will cover emergency medicine topics.

The conference will also offer a BLS provider course, refresher classes for PALS and ACLS, and two workshops. One workshop will be a coding workshop to help maximize reimbursement by understanding coding. The second workshop is an advocacy workshop to help you understand the importance of advocating for your profession, how a bill becomes law and tips for talking to your legislator.

CME Credit

This activity has been reviewed by the AAPA Review Panel and is compliant with AAPA CME Criteria. This activity is designated for 35.50 AAPA Category 1 CME credits. PAs should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation.

This activity was planned in accordance with AAPA CME Standards for Live Programs and for Commercial Support of Live Programs.

Please note that the non-diabetic endocrine track, emergency medicine track and workshops run concurrently with the general session. Therefore, a maximum of 25 hours can be earned.

The program will include the required Oklahoma State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision one-hour Category I CME on the topic of substance abuse. The lecture, “Understanding Medical Marijuana” is scheduled for Thursday, September 19, 2019, 5:30 – 6:30 pm.

CME Logging

OAPA members registered for all three days of the conference will have their CME hours logged automatically with the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure.  Attendees who DO NOT attend the maximum of 25 hours will need to contact the OAPA to have the hours adjusted to the number attended.

The OAPA will be participating in the NCCPA CME Conference Logging System.  This is an added benefit to simplify the logging process with NCCPA.  Participants will receive a unique link to a list of conference activities on their certification page.  This will be a point-and-click approach and credits logged this way will NOT be subject to the NCCPA AUDIT because the OAPA has already confirmed them.
