OAPA Involvement Opportunities

Get Involved in Your Profession!

The OAPA is looking for passionate PAs like you who are ready to make a significant contribution to the advancement of our profession! There are multiple opportunities for you to get involved at a committee or board level.

Below are the open seats for the 2025/26 Elections.

President-Elect – 3 year term.
Vice President – 3-year term.
Secretary – 3-year term.
At-Large Director Seats – 3-year terms.
OAPA Delegates to the 2026 AAPA House of Delegates – Chief (2-year term); Delegate (1-year term)

Please note that to run for an officer position (President-Elect, Vice President, and Secretary), an individual must have at least one (1) year of experience on the Board or a committee unless the Board determines otherwise.

We know taking on a board seat can be daunting, so the best way to get involved is to pick a committee that interests you! Below are the committees and a short description.

Governance Committee: The purpose of the Governance Committee is to aid the Board in the continual development of the Board.

Finance Committee: The purpose of the Finance Committee is to provide financial oversight for The Academy and to report the fiscal position to the Board.

Continuing Medical Education (CME) Committee: The purpose of the CME Committee is to plan, coordinate, and conduct CME Programs as approved by the board.

PA Relations Committee: The purpose of the PA Relations Committee is to help PAs who are suffering from any debilitating or potentially debilitating condition or illness (this includes but is not limited to drug and/or alcohol addiction, mental illness, stroke, etc.)

Legislative and Governmental Affairs Committee: The purpose of the Legislative and Governmental Affairs Committee is to monitor and report to the Board all state and national legislative and governmental issues that are related to PAs.

Public Relations Committee: The purpose of the Public Relations Committee is to serve as the marketing, information, and, communications resource for the Academy.

Awards Committee: The purpose of the Awards Committee is to establish criteria and solicit nominations for academy awards.

Research Committee: The purpose of the Research Committee is to consider research requests that may enhance the practice of PAs, the development of The Academy, and the PA profession. Priority will be given to research projects that support The Academy’s mission, goals, and agenda.

Social Committee: The purpose of the Social Committee is to develop and organize social and networking events for the membership.
