Program Update: OUHSC – OKC

The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Physician Associate Program in Oklahoma City will welcome the Class of 2026 in June! As part of the Oklahoma Governor’s “40k by 2030” initiative, the program will seat 55 students this cycle.

The program has added two new didactic faculty members, Elizabeth “Libby” Garone, MHS, PA-C, and Melissa Gleason, PA-C, both graduates of the OUHSC PA Program. Both of these faculty members bring many experiences and tons of knowledge to the OUHSC PA Program, and we are lucky to have them!

Libby graduated from the OUHSC PA Program in 1998. For the last 25 years, she has worked in Orthopedics, Otolaryngology, and Psychiatry. Melissa graduated from the program in 2014, worked in Cardiology for about a year, and then moved to Pediatrics Hematology/Oncology for seven and a half years before returning to OUHSC as a faculty member.

The Class of 2024 is preparing for the final stages of their education with OUHSC and will register for the PANCE in April. These students will graduate in October, and we’ll be sending off a new class of Physician Associates into Oklahoma and the nation. We are very proud of these students!

The Class of 2025 will be wrapping up the Didactic phase of their education this summer and will be starting their Clinical rotations in the fall. The program is excited to watch these students grow as they learn more about the different medical settings, they’ll soon be a part of.
