Shannon Morey, JD

Shannon Morey is a Senior Director of State Advocacy & Outreach for AAPA. In her current position, she helps to implement the Academy’s legislative and regulatory affairs program ensuring that PAs are able to practice by working to achieve excellence in laws in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and US territories. Ms. Morey serves as the liaison to the western region.
Prior to working for AAPA, she served in a number of state advocacy roles for the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, the American Academy of Family Physicians, and the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery in Washington, DC. In these roles she worked at the state level in advancing the professions through legislation and regulation across the country.
Ms. Morey holds a law degree from Quinnipiac University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from The University of Arizona.

- Identify positive changes recently made to PA practice laws/regulations across the US.
- Define elements of modern PA practice including 6KE and OTP.
- Describe strategies for advocating for the PA profession.
