Tom Connally, MD

Dr. Connally has been providing surgical skills to the Norman community for several years. Dr. Connally is the Medical Director of the Norman Regional Health System Endocrine Surgery Program and a pioneer in the area of minimally-invasive thyroid and parathyroid surgeries. The Endocrine Surgery Program uses a team approach working closely with endocrinologists, pathologists, radiologist and nuclear medicine staff to ensure patients receive the highest quality of care. Dr. Connally completed more than 250 cases last year. Patients from all over the nation have traveled to Norman to be treated by him.  Dr. Connally is also an active member of the American Association of Endocrine Surgeons. He is the only surgeon in the state of Oklahoma who is currently a member of the AAES.

  • Review and compare the current guidelines: ATA 2015 and AAES 2020.
  • Discuss uniform ultrasound and pathology reports and their role to decrease FNA interventions.
  • Develop confidence in diagnostic pathways to avoid over treatment.
  • Identify those patients who need a referral to an Endocrinologist or Endocrine Surgeon.
